A few facts about the Island of Jersey;
Jersey, an independent Island loyal to the English Crown, with its own laws and a unique lifestyle. Only nine miles by five it has a population of 84,000 and is the most southerly of the Channel Islands, just 14 miles from the coast of France and 100 miles south of England.
The Island is famous for its beautiful and varied coastline, with long stretches of golden sandy beaches, small coves, high cliffs and picturesque harbours.
Excellent local produce-seafood galore with succulent oysters, lobsters, crabs and prawns, sea-bass, lemon sole and plaice. Famous new potatoes, Jersey fresh vegetables and herbs, golden butter and thick rich ice cream.
There is good local wine and beer, too. Award winning chefs in elegant bistros, trattorias, al fresco eating outdoors.
